Msingi Soccer Academy U-15 captain Jonah Muwanguzi has earned his maiden national team call-up, becoming the first player from the Academy to receive an invitation to represent Uganda at a national level.
The midfielder has joined the Uganda U-15 national football team, the Rhinos, who are currently in camp at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru, preparing for the inaugural FIFA U-15 World Cup Festival scheduled to take place in Baku, Azerbaijan, from 22 to 31 October 2026.
Muwanguzi’s selection follows an impressive campaign in the recently concluded inaugural FUFA Academies League 2026, where he demonstrated leadership and consistency in midfield.
Having captained Msingi Soccer Academy on several occasions throughout the competition, Muwanguzi also contributed three goals, playing an important role in the Academy’s campaign.
His national team invitation marks a significant milestone for Msingi Soccer Academy, which was established in 2018 with a commitment to developing young football talent through structured training, education and character development.
The call-up also reflects the progress of the Academy’s player development programme, which focuses on nurturing young footballers through technical, tactical, physical and mental development.
As Muwanguzi continues his preparations with the national team, his achievement serves as an inspiration to his teammates and other young players aspiring to represent Uganda.
For Msingi Soccer Academy, the historic selection represents another step towards its long-term goal of developing footballers capable of competing at national and international levels.
The academy congratulates Muwanguzi on this achievement and wishes him success as he takes the next step in his football journey.
